Wantagh Teen Charged With Possession of Stolen Bongs

Police say Matthew Cano was in possession of 19 bongs stolen from the former Twisted Glass store in Wantagh.

A Wantagh teen was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal possession of stolen property after allegedly being found with the 19 bongs that were stolen from a Wantagh Avenue business in early November.

Nassau County Seventh Squad detectives said Matthew Cano, 19, was in possession of the 19 artisan glass tobacco pipes (bongs), which were allegedly stolen by two 16-year old males on Nov. 1 from the Twisted Glass store on 1898 Wantagh Ave. after breaking through a window. The business was closed at the time of the burglary, police said.

The bongs were valued at more than $10,000, police said.
