Oct. 15: Town Budget Hearing

A look at events in the Wantagh-Seaford area.

Start your Tuesday with this daily guide, where you will find five pieces of information you should know today, like events happening in town or topics being covered on the site. Have an event that should appear in this column? Add it to the calendar.

Town Board: The Hempstead Town Board will hold public hearings on the proposed 2014 Town budget Tuesday. The town board meets at 2:30 p.m.and 7 p.m.

Sanitation: Due to the Columbus Day holiday, homes that normally receive sanitation pickup on Monday will receive it Tuesday.

Author Celebration: The Seaford Public Library will host a children's program celebrating author Eric Litwin's "Pete the Cat" books. Its for ages 4 through grade three and it starts at 4 p.m.

Story Time: The Wantagh Public Library will host two story time events for kids 3 to 6 at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 

SEPTA: There will be a SEPTA meeting at Wantagh Middle School at 7:30 p.m.
