Today is the Perfect Day

So many parents find excuses as to why they do not want to be in pictures. I challenge them to give a gift to their children and realize that today is the perfect day.

Autumn is such a beautiful season.  All the gorgeous backdrops it bestows on us
have always seemed so magical to me.  So perfect that it is also a time when so many families seek to have professional pictures taken of their children, for holiday cards or gifts. I want to challenge you to make it a gift for your children as well.

Being camera shy myself (in front of that is), I understand why parents are not so willing want to be in photographs, however, that does not make it right all of the time. After all sometimes the most challenging things for us tend to be the right ones.  I have come to realizes more with each passing day how important it is to be in those pictures too. That it is not only a gift we leave to our children but an everlasting treasure.

Do not wait for the perfect day, the one that everything fits the way you have in your mind.  It will never come.  There will always be a reason to wait.

Trust me when I say that the perfect day is actually today. Today when you can hold your youngest in your arms and he fits just so. Today, when your oldest tells you stories and your combined laughter is the sweetest song. Today when one hand fits like a puzzle piece into your partners and the other gently hugs your child’s at the same time.

There is such an array of wonderful, talented photographers in our area. Take a moment to ask around for one, get to know them, look through their work and find the one that fits with your family and speaks to your heart.

Whether it is one with a gorgeous studio, a photographer whose studio is outside in one of the stunning settings our area has to offer or one that comes to your home.  There is someone for you and your budget.

I have found that much like our community, the community of photographers in, on and around Long Island is amazing. We come together to support, lift up and
empower each other.  I know firsthand that they would love to be your perfect fit and if not they are more than happy to offer suggestions to someone who maybe.

So I challenge you to find that photographer. The one, whose showcased work makes you fall in love, makes you feel connections and the one where you can picture your own family.  Then TRUST their vision. If you let them guide you on your photographic journey and go along for the ride enjoying your family, the outcome will be breathtaking. The gift will be forever felt and speak volumes to your children’s tomorrow.

Today is the perfect day.
