Donation Request

Dear Community:

The American Cancer Society has many wonderful volunteers that fundraise and promote the awareness of the American Cancer Society’s mission. I am the proud mother of Rose-Marie Snyder who is hoping to raise money for cancer research and much needed funds to
eliminate this disease. She will be hosting the second annual bowling fundraiser at AMF Wantagh Lanes on April 12, 2013 in honor of her Grandfather who lost his battle from prostate cancer seven years ago.

The staff and management at AMF Wantagh Lanes have shown a great deal of support and generosity to make our event special!  Last year she raised over $1,500 and presented the check to the American Cancer Society.  Hempstead Town Supervior Kate Murray and Councilman Gary Hudes, R-Levittown, came to Wantagh Lanes and presented her with a Citation for her achievements!

Her ultimate goal for the fundraiser is to raise enough money to donate to the American Cancer Society to make a significant impact with the hopes of finding a cure for cancer.  With cutting edge research, widespread education, tireless advocacy and steadfast dedication, her mission is to help save lives and prevent cancer.

It is only through the generosity of organizations like yours that we are able to continue our vital role as leaders in cancer control. This letter is to request your help in achieving our goal by making a donation of gift certificates and any other items you are willing
to extend to us that will be packaged and raffle off at the event.

Your participation in helping to make this event a success would be greatly appreciated.  To make a donation, please contact Regina Snyder at (516) 343-5265 reg42295@optonline.net

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
