On Saturday February 12, the Cub Scouts of Pack 189 and Boy Scouts of Troop 189 did their part to help the hungry across Long Island with their annual Scouting for Food pledge at the Stop and Shop on Jerusalem Avenue and Newbridge Road. The food pantries are at their lowest point after the new year and this is the scouts time to help replenish the food supplies. The scouts were asking shoppers to donate non-perishable items like canned goods, pasta and other items to help in this very worthy cause.
Pack & Troop 189 meets at in Wantagh on Thursday evenings and serves Wantagh, Bellmore, Merrick, Seaford, Massapequa and surrounding areas.
