Exploring the History of the 1939 Grumman Goose

The Cradle of Aviation Museum, located in Garden City's Museum Row, offers a variety of aircrafts and memorabilia that capture moments from history.
Throughout the next four weeks, Patch will take flight on an adventure, exploring some of the museum's most popular exhibits.
This week, we examine a 1939 Grumman Goose, which could land on either land or water. It was originally developed in the late 1930s for wealthy commuters. People would fly from parts of Long Island and land right near Wall Street in Manhattan, where a sea plane base used to be.
