Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance Live at Jones Beach

Why Go:  Two world famous and extremely successful rock bands, Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance, will be rocking the Jones Beach Theatre on Saturday night.  Come see these two powerhouse groups play classics from the 90s and modern day favorites.  With a new album from Blink 182 titled 'Nieghborhoods' coming out soon, it's a terrific time to see them live and enjoy the summer while it's still here.

Nassau County Museum Presents: "Richard Avedon: Photographer of Influence"

When/Where:  1 Museum Dr, Roslyn, NY 11576 (Saturday & Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.)

Why Go:  Richard Avedon (1923-2004) is remembered as one of the great image makers of the 20th century.  More than 50 photographs from the legendary artist will be showcased at Nassau County Museum of Art.  This began back on May 21, and will continue until Sept. 4. According to the museum: "The exhibition celebrates Avedon’s storied career in which he embraced the worlds of both magazine and museum, pioneering a vision of photography as a two-sided mirror that reflects both the subject and the photographer."

A Night Out to Support Paulie's Fight Against Brain Cancer

When/Where:  , 3232 Railroad Ave, Wantagh, NY 11793 (Saturday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

Why Go:  Come down to Mulcahy's for a wonderful benefit to help raise money for Paulie, a 17-month old boy who is suffering from brain cancer.  All proceeds will go towards his medical treatment.  It will feature an open bar, dinner buffet and live music.  Tickets must be purchased in advanced. Kaylee's Heart Fundraiser

When/Where:  323 Main Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735 (The Nutty Irishman) (Saturday, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

Why Go:  Come support Team Kaylee's Heart To Benefit The American Heart Association.  There will be a special live acoustic performance by Rand Jackson from "Zebra" music.  There will also be a free buffet, chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and cash bar.  All Proceeds Will Go To The American Heart Association. PANLIC Bicycle Ride Fundraiser for American Skin Association

When/Where:  Park Ave & Beech St, Wantagh, NY 11793 (Start of the Route) (Sunday, 6:00 a.m.)

Why Go:  According to the website, "The Pan-Long Island Challenge (PANLIC) is a call to all bicyclists on Long Island, the NYC metro area, and throughout the USA and internationally to challenge themselves to undertake a 100-mile scenic and fun bike ride dedicated to raising money for skin cancer research, prevention of skin disease and skin health promotion/education."

This event is a 100 mile route that will begin at the Wantagh LIRR train station.  It will travel northeast through Nassau/Western Suffolk County.  The terrain will be mostly flat with no major hills, and will end at East Hampton High School (2 Long Lane, East Hampton, New York 11937).  There will also be a celebrity lunch provided for all riders and volunteers.
