Guide to Memorial Day 2014 in Wantagh and Seaford

Communities across the country will gather this weekend to celebrate and remember those who fought and gave their lives in the name of freedom.

Here's what you need to know about the Memorial Day 2014 parades in Wantagh and Seaford:

Wantagh
Kick off: 10 a.m.
Parade route: Starting at Wantagh Middle School, heads south on Wantagh Avenue, turns east on Park Avenue, and ends at American Legion Post on Park Avenue.
Ceremony and presentation of remembrance: Immediately following the parade.

Seaford
Kick off: 10 a.m.
Parade route: Starts at Verity Plaza, heads north on Washington Avenue and concludes at Four Chaplains Monument.
Ceremony: American Legion's memorial service immediately following parade.
