Local Hadassah Members Take Part in Jones Beach Breast Cancer Walk

Participants in walk from Ahava Machar Chapter of Hadassah treated to a breakfast sponsored by Town Bagel of Bellmore.

Several members of Ahava Machar Chapter of Hadassah participated in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach in Wantagh this past Sunday

Just prior to the event, walkers were treated to a breakfast sponsored by Town Bagel of Bellmore. There were 15 walkers from Ahava Machar Chapter of Hadassah that raised money for this worthwhile cause. Machar Hadassah serves women from their 30's to their 90's in the communities of Wantagh, Seaford and Bellmore.

The 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach had more than 64,000 walkers and raised over $3 million, according to the event's website

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
