Seaford Fire Department Holds Christmas Tree Lighting

Community in holiday spirit at annual ceremony attended by Santa Clause.

The held its 37th Annual Tree Lighting ceremony this past Saturday evening.

Santa Clause arrived with lights and siren and the anticipation of the tree lighting kept everyone who attended the ceremony in the holiday spirit. Following the tree lighting hot chocolate and cookies were served by the Seaford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a toy drive was held inside the firehouse. Musicians from also entertainted the crowd.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
