Familes and friends kicked off the holiday season in high spirits Saturday night as the hosted a winter wonderland for all to enjoy topped off with its 38th annual Christmas tree lighting.

The festive holiday event featured an appearance by Santa Clause. Following the tree lighting, hot chocolate and cookies were served by the Seaford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Hot chocolate and cookies, which has become a tradition with each year's event, was served by the Ladies Auxiliary.

Many who attended the tree lighting also participated in the Seaford Fire Department's 11th annual toy drive for children and young adults who are in foster care or on public assistance.
