Seaford Man Wins $1 Million Lottery

William Storm collects 1 million Winfall jackpot after purchasing winning scratch-off ticket at Friendly Cards & Gifts in Wantagh.

A Seaford man was one of six people to be awarded $19,000,000 in prize money by the New York Lottery in late December.

William Storm, 69, claimed a $1 million Winfall jackpot on Nov. 28, three days after he purchased the winning scratch-off ticket at on Wantagh Avenue in Wantagh. Storm's plans with his winnings include a cruise for his entire family, and saving for college for his seven grandchildren.

As with most New York Lottery scratch-off jackpots, Storm will receive his $1 million prize as an annuity. The Seaford resident will receive 20 annual payments of $50,000, netting him $33,015 through 2030.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
