Festive celebration held at Seaford church from July 11-15.

in Seaford held its 36th annual Family Festival from July 11-15.

Musical groups who performed during the festival were Risky Business, Sheer Magic, The Attic, Storm, and the Boston Burglars. The fair featured a variety of rides and food such as philly cheesesteaks, sausage and peppers, turkey burgers, pizza from  in Seaford, and zeppoles. There was also a 50/50 raffle each night of the festival with the grand prize being a hybrid Toyota Prius.

The festival is organized in large part by parishioners and church leaders who volunteer their time to help out.

"This is my 10th year working the St. William the Abbot Festival my whole family is working this year," said Ginny Ritter, a St. William parishioner and Massapequa resident. "I feel it's a good way to give back to St. Williams and have fun while doing it."

"It's a great tradition that brings together the community and it helps support the work of the parish," said Father Bob Hayden, pastor of St. William the Abbot Church.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
