Veterans Day Guide in Wantagh-Seaford

A look at what's open and closed in the area.

Monday is Veteran's Day, a Federal, state and Nassau County holiday. It honors those who've served in America's armed dorces. It's also known as Armistice Day,  the anniversary of the end of World War I.

Here's a look at what's going on in Wantagh Seaford:

Ceremony: There will be numerous ceremonies throughout the area to mark the day. Wantagh American Legion Post 1273 will hold their ceremony at 10:30 a.m.  The post is located at 3484 Park Avenue. Seaford American Legion Post 1132 hosts a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. 

Schools: Public schools in both Wantagh and Seaford will be closed on Monday.

Libraries: Both the Wantagh and Seaford Public Libraries are closed.

Mail: There will be no mail delivery on Monday.

Town: Town Hall in Hempstead is closed, and there will be no Sanitation pickup Monday. THose who normally receive sanitation pickup on Monday will get it Tuesday, while those who normally receive it Tuesday will receive it Wednesday.
