Wantagh Synagogue Hosts Scout Shabbat

Boy and Girl Scouts from across Nassau County honored during special service held Feb. 1 at Temple B'nai Torah.

Temple B’nai Torah in Wantagh held a Boy and Girl Scout Shabbat service this past Friday.

The scouts from across Nassau County who attended the service in full uniform ranged from Daisy to Gold Award recipients and Cub to Eagle Award honorees. Rabbi Marci N. Bellows and Cantor Steven Sher conducted the service and asked the scouts and their leaders to stand to receive a special blessing for their hard work and dedication.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
