Weekly Recap: Wantagh Singer to Perform on Big Stage, Car Flips on Parkway

It was a busy week in Wantagh-Seaford.

In case you missed some of the big stories on Wantagh-Seaford Patch, here's a look at the big stories we had this week.

  1. Wantagh Singer to Perform at Jones Beach: As part of the Honest Tea Free Concert Series at Jones Beach, Wantagh’s own Trish Torales will be performing a free show on Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
  2. Car Flips on Southern State Parkway: On Monday afternoon, the Wantagh Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an overturned auto eastbound Southern State Parkway near the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway. 
  3. Traffic Stop Yields Arrest of Burglary Suspect: Two Seaford men were arrested on drug possession, traffic violation and other charges after a traffic stop in Massapequa early Tuesday morning.
  4. Paulina Renda Named Third Runner-Up in Miss LI Teen Pageant: Thirty-seven of Long Island’s most beautiful and accomplished young women competed today for the coveted titles of Miss Long Island and Miss Long Island Teen 2014 and the two winners will advance to Donald Trump’s New York USA 2014 Pageant in January.
  5. Jones Beach Lifeguard Honored for 50 Years of Service: Senator Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, and Assemblyman David McDonough, R-North Merrick, recently congratulated Captain Ed Peters for 50 years of service as a Jones Beach lifeguard.
