LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION = convenience
Close to all major roadways Close to beaches Close to Shopping,Restaurants,Parks,Marinas,2 Racetracks, Casino, MLB Stadium, Tennis Stadium, Golf,Museums,Colleges, Universities, Major medical facilities. 30-45 minutes to NYC by LIRR 20 - 45 to minutes to Major Airports Low crime Family friendly- family oriented Quiet and for the most part peaceful respectful neighborhoods. Stable Consistent demographic with no discernable major fluctuation or disparity in incomes. Steady strong middle class values Now if we could only AFFORD to continue to live here it would be ideal- Between escalating school, general and state taxes, ridiculous utilities what would be ideal is fast becoming more and more difficult for old and young alike to remain. Sometimes the good, great and even excellent doesnt always outweight the bad.and unfortunately its getting worse ..........

I agree I love L.I. I grew up in Wantagh but could not afford the rising house prices or the taxes so my wife and myself left for A.Z. 9 years ago we now have a family , I feel bad for seniors and the young people who have to leave because of the high cost of living

"Stable Consistent demographic"
Translation: Thank God for Long Island's practice of de facto segregation. Nearly all children are being raised with little to no understanding of cultural diversity! Yay!

stable consistent demographic means to me atleast that we dont have a wide disparity between household incomes, we dont have a heck of a lot of Exceedingly weathly and excedingly poor. As for diversity- whomever can afford to live here imho is more then welcome.
Key word is AFFORD - regardless of ethnicity-
old miller February 17, 2013 at 03:57 am
Yes. You are correct, Lorraine. The key word is "afford." Fortunately for you, there are no Asian, Latin, or (God forbid) African-American families who can afford to live in a community as upscale as Seaford.

Old miller you couldnt be more off the mark- I would rather have diversity- however you are missing the intent totaly - there are many young and old who simply cant afford to live here BECAUSE of the TAXES not because of their ethnicity. Financialy regardless of what the origin TAXEs and the cost of living is driving young and old alike away. Diversity isnt the issue - you just decided to make it an issue taking away from the intent which is while seaford wantagh are great places to live and bring up kids fewer young people can afford to buy here, while more and more are finding it harder to remain here.
