Young Fans Flock To Jones Beach One Direction Concerts

Hit boy band plays two shows at Wantagh music venue this past weekend.

As One Direction hit the stage this past weekend at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, thousands of young female fans from around the region flocked to the Wantagh music venue to get a glimpse at the hit boy band.

Tickets for One Direction’s back-to-back June 28 and 29 performances at Jones Beach went on sale last year and sold out within a day. The British boy band has hit it big since first forming on the show X Factor three years ago. Their debut album “Up All Night” topped the charts in 15 countries.

“They are the definition of perfection and are original and not the typical boy band,” said Iva Kalinkoba, a young fan from Wantagh who attended Friday’s show.

Some fans were looking forward to One Direction answering fans’ questions from Twitter. The band answered answered three questions from the social media site during Friday’s concert with one asking them do a New York accent.

One Direction’s Friday show took place in the midst of some rain, but that did not dampen the enthusiasm of the packed crowd.
