ARJB Founder to Speak at Wantagh Chamber Meeting

Rafe Lieber to lobby support for long-stalled Trump on the Ocean project.

Alliance to Revitalize Jones Beach (ARJB) founder Rafe Lieber will be attending this Tuesday's general meeting addressing his attempts to get the long-stalled Trump on the Ocean catering hall project off the ground.

Lieber in August and organized a at attended by real estate mogul Donald Trump, who first conceived plans for a 70,000 square-foot restaurant catering facility in 2006 at the site of the former Boardwalk Café. Trump’s $30 million project has been held up in litigation the last three years due to the State Review Board objecting to his plans for a basement in a flood zone.

Lieber of Plainview was previously chief of staff to former State Sen. Craig Johnson. Last month Lieber about the ARJB’s efforts to get Trump on the Ocean built at a South Merrick Civic Association meeting.

Wantagh Chamber of Commerce president Christopher Brown has been a supporter of the Trump on the Ocean project and at the Sept. 14 ARJB rally.

Monday’s Wantagh Chamber of Commerce meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Per Un' Angelo on 3275 Byron St.
