New Wantagh Starbucks Open for Business

International coffeehouse chain opened its first Wantagh store this past Monday in Willow Wood Shops on Wantagh Avenue.

Starbucks is now open for business in Wantagh.

The largest coffeehouse company in the world opened its newest Nassau County store this past Monday in the Willow Wood Shops at 1143 Wantagh Ave. The store is located next to  in a building that used to house Dunkin Donuts.

No official grand opening celebration is planned yet at the new  but there may be one scheduled for later this year. 

Starbucks last year to operate in the Wantagh shopping center, according to Wilbur Breslin, president and CEO of Garden City-based Breslin Realty, which owns Willow Wood Shops. The Seattle-based coffee company currently operates more than 17,000 Starbucks stores in 57 countries.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
