Time for your close-up: Where do you go for fierce nails?

Nail salons are an ever-present part of the Wantagh-Seaford landscape and inspire passionate followings. Where else can you sip a cup of coffee while getting a hand massage, nail touchup or waxing – all while catching up on the latest gossip?

There’s an intimate relationship one develops over nails. Some of the most important moments in life start with a manicure and fresh coat of polish. Nail technicians become part of the extended family.

Time to weigh in. Wantagh-Seaford Patch is looking to unearth the best nail salon in town. Readers’ Choice is a new weekly feature where we ask you – our readers – to tell us your top picks.

Each Monday we’ll list our nominees – this week it’s nail salons – and ask for your recommendation. Did we leave your go-to spot off the list? Go ahead and add it in comments.

Wednesday we’ll narrow the field, taking your recommendations to put to a vote in the ultimate mani-pedi poll.

The following week we’ll announce our winner.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
