Readers' Choice Best Pancakes Winner: Sunrise Diner

Longtime Wantagh establishment voted as having the best pancakes in local area.

After four days of voting, has been chosen as having the best pancakes in the Wantagh-Seaford area.

Sunrise Diner in Wantagh received 56 percent of the votes cast in our . Coming in second place with 18 percent of the vote was Waffle House on 3927 Merrick Road in Seaford.

Sunrise Diner has been family owned and operated on 3201 Sunrise Highway for more than 35 years. Some of the speciality pancakes Sunrise Diner offers include chocolate chip, banana and whole wheat. 

For next week's Readers' Choice we are seeking nominations for the best florist in the Wantagh-Seaford area. Leave your suggestions in the comments below and we will include them in Monday's poll.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
