Retail Plaza Eyed at Former Seaford Gas Station Property

Breslin Realty working to sell 18,750 square-foot parcel at corner of Sunrise Highway and Washington Avenue.

The boarded up former Getty Station on 3980 Sunrise Highway in Seaford has a sign that reads “closed due to fire damage. We will reopen soon.”

However there are no such plans for the service station to open its doors again and instead retail space is eyed for the 18,750 square-foot property at the corner of Washington Avenue. Garden City-based Breslin Realty is working to sell the parcel and has an asking price of $725,000.

Russell Lico, a broker at Breslin, said there have been a couple interested parties in developing the property as a retail plaza. He said there are still gas tanks on the land that need to be removed.

“It’s a very, very prominent piece of property and we’d like to sell it as soon as we can,” Lico said.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
