Rush Hour Trains Cancelled Due to Construction

Stoppages will last until Aug. 16.

As construction work begins on the Harold Interlocking switching complex in Queens, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) has cancelled five rush-hour trains for the next four weeks.

The following Penn Station-bound trains will be canceled for the morning rush:

  • 6:54 a.m. from Central Islip
  • 7:55 a.m. from Little Neck 
  • 8:10 a.m. from Freeport.
During the evening, the following outbound trains have been halted:
  • 6:05 p.m. due at Wantagh at 6:51 p.m.
  • 6:33 p.m. due at Babylon at 7:35 p.m.
These trains will not function until Aug. 16.
