Wantagh Caterer Offering Discount to Manor East Victims

Iavarone Bros. reaching out to customers impacted by sudden closing of Massapequa catering hall.

A little less than a week after nearby Manor East suddenly closed its doors, a Wantagh caterer has stepped forward to assist customers of the Massapequa catering hall who are now in limbo.

Iavarone Bros. on 1166 Wantagh Ave. announced Tuesday that 25 percent catering discounts ($500 maximum order) will be offered to those who had an original contract with Manor East for upcoming events.

“All of us at IB Foods feel terrible about all those who have lost deposit monies from the closure of Manor East Catering in Massapequa,” said Joseph Iavarone, president of Iavarone Bros., in a letter announcing the discount offer.

Iavarone was recognized by the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce last year for giving back to the local community with the organization's annual "Good Guy" award.

A day after Manor East was closed on June 13, State Assemblyman Joseph Salidno, R-Massapequa, held a press conference announcing that he would find replacement venues for displaced customers. A hotline has also been set up by the Long Island Caterers Association to help parties find a new venue at 516-462-9001.
