Wantagh Chamber of Commerce Gives Back at Annual Holiday Lighting

Organization uses Sunday's holiday event as opportunity to assist local families in need from Superstorm Sandy.

The Wantagh Chamber of Commerce held its annual Holiday Lighting celebration Sunday and used the festive event as an opportunity to give back to local families who were hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.

Wantagh Chamber of Commerce President Chris Brown said the organization decided to use funds from its business assistance program that were handed out to families in need at the lighting. Brown said the turnout for Sunday's lighting at Triangle Park next to the Wantagh Long Island Rail Road Station is the best he can recall.

"It was a big success," said Brown of the annual event that features a Christmas tree and Menorah for Hanukkah being lit to kick off the holiday season.
