Wantagh Charity Receives Donation from Bar Association

Momma's House presented $5,000 check from Nassau County Bar Association.

Momma’s House in Wantagh recently received a $5,000 check from the Nassau County Bar Association.

The donation to the Wantagh-based charity was provided by WE CARE Fund Advisory, a charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. The funds from We Care are raised by the legal profession and distributed through charitable grants. In the 25 years since its founding, Nassau County attorneys have raised more than $2.5 million for more than 100 local charitable causes.

Based in Wantagh, Momma’s House serves young mothers and their children by providing shelter, support, advocacy, instruction and love, as well as to address homelessness, complete education and career goals and to develop independent living skills. Located on 1857 Wantagh Ave., Momma's House serves as a home for young mothers ages 17 to 23 years and their babies. For approximately two years, the young mothers at Momma's House continue education or vocational experience interrupted by pregnancy.
