Wantagh Lottery Store Producing Plenty of Luck

Friendly Cards & Gifts has sold numerous lottery tickets with large winnings in past year.

A Wantagh store has had quite the recent luck when it comes to lottery winners.

Friendly Cards & Gifts on 1906 Wantagh Ave. has sold numerous lottery tickets with large winnings in the past year. Among the lucky winners included a $1 million instant ticket, $1 million Powerball winner, $250,000 in a Mega Millions drawing and a $100,000 instant ticket. Other recent winners include a $31,0000 Take Five, two $25,000 instant tickets and a $15,000 Take Five.

"We have had a lot of fun and excitement being part  of this with our customers," said John Boulukos, owner of Friendly's. "The most fun for us is when the customers win while they are in the store. Seeing their reaction and the excitement winning brings is fantastic!"

Friendly's most recent big winner was a $10,000 Powerball ticket from Feb. 15. The man had four of the five numbers plus the Powerball. He missed the winning ticket by just one digit, which would have amounted to $60 million.

"People are eager to hear about how winners react and it gives us all a moment to dream," Boulukos said. "Hopefully we can continue to have more winners and spread the luck!."

I quit playing Lottery games for Lent. It is nice to have the extra cash in my wallet, and to not be a slave to checking numbers each morning.
