Wantagh Pizzeria Donating to Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund

Newly opened Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in Wantagh is devoting the month of April toward helping local residents still suffering from last fall’s devastating impact caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Twenty percent of all proceeds on dine-in and carry-out orders on Mondays in April at the new pizzeria located on 3430 Sunrise Highway will be donated to the Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund (NHRF). The NHRF was created by Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano last November to collect and organize donations and distribute them to victims of Sandy.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Anthony’s also donated 100 percent of its Wantagh location sales during a Feb. 6 grand opening to Island Harvest's local Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

“I am so grateful to Anthony’s for their generous offer to provide a percentage of their sales to Nassau’s Hurricane Recovery Fund,” said Mangano in a statement. “Thanks to businesses throughout Nassau we have been able to provide some form of support to those who have been unable to overcome the financial hurdles associated with the storm and the recovery. The community spirit in Nassau has been amazing.”
