Where Can Wantagh-Seaford Residents Get Gas?

Patch is seeking comments from readers on where in area people can fill up their tanks during gasoline shortage in wake of Superstorm Sandy.

With gasoline at a premium in the days following Superstorm Sandy nailing the Long Island region, finding places to fill up that tank in Wantagh and Seaford has become a challenge this week.

Some service stations are closed after running out of gas and the many of the ones that are open feature long lines. The gasoline shortage comes in the midst of more than 10,000 homes and businesses in the Wantagh-Seaford area being out of power as of Friday morning, according to the Long Island Power Authority's outage map.

Patch wants to know where in the Wantagh-Seaford area gas is available and what are the conditions like at these stations in terms of price and wait time? Please let us know in the comments section below.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.

True, true, I'm sure there's a political payoff/payback here somewhere.

A tantalizing, mind-teasing story about a faceless team with no names who won honorable mention forRead More some project about which we learned absolutely nothing from this article. Journalism 101: Who what, why when and where?
