LIRR Commuters Getting Short-Changed by Congress - Again!

Commuter Transit Tax Benefit Expiring December 31, 2013. Congress needs to hear from us before then!

Once again, intransigence by Congress will be costing LIRR commuters money.  The 2014 Commuter Transit Pretax Benefit will be REDUCED from $245 to $130 because Congress has not acted to extend this program or to make it permanent; the current benefit expires on 12/31/2013,  Meanwhile, the Commuter Parking benefit will actually INCREASE from $245 to $250 in January, an indication that Congress favors people who use their cars for commuting over those of us who use mass transit.

If you are an LIRR commuter, or would like to lend support to the effort to have Congress take action and make the Transit benefit permanent, as they have already done with the Parking benefit, then please contact our legislators through this portal: http://act.commuterbenefitsworkforus.com/5239/tell-congress-to-support-transit-benefit/?m=4748092 Feel free to share this link with family and friends.

Thank you for your consideration!
