SEAFORD AVENUE SCHOOL.

In September of 1951 Mr "Nippy" VanNostrand's bus 4 took me to a new address, Seaford Ave School. The new wing was not yet built - the front door was actually in the middle of the school. There I met my 4th grade teacher, Miss Peters. I aldo met some of the special teachers who stayed with us throughout, even moving up to the new high school when we did. There was art teacher Mrs de Quillfeld, shop teacher Mr Parisi, gym teacher Mr deBonus. Mrs Davies was school nurse. In 5th grade we started with Mrs Peterson, who left to have a baby. Mr Fuller introduced us to our new teacher, Mr. Franciscovitch. [In the interum, and throughout our years, the substitute was Mrs. Kirk.] Mr Dick was 6th grade teacher. Gym teachers were Mr Winslow, Mr Gerbino and Mr. Valvano. In 7th grade we had 2 teachers. Mr Ferara was science and math teacher, Mr Pfeiffer taught English and history. We were introduced to the new high school principal Mr. Ripton, who often consulted with Mr Ferara about the h.s. building plans. Eight grade we had Mr. deRosa, and several others. We had an 8th grade graduation, but continued in 9th grade, in the new part of the school. When you grow older and move to new addresses, these memories remain strong. Those were the days, my friends. To all those who taught us and raised us, I say thanks for the memories!
