SEAFORD HIGH

Once upon a time the address for teens in Seaford was either Amityville or Freeport. Then They began to expand Seaford Ave School and develop a high school. Graduation was still in 8th grade, and then in in 1956 I began 9th grade at S.A.S. Mr Ripton was now high school principal and Mr Davies was assistant principal. I remember teachers such as Mr Curtis for geography. He had been a baseball player, and coached the school teams. Mrs Blythe was my Latin teacher. Mr. Strickland was for science. At the end of the school year we had to return our books to the new Junior-Senior High School up on Seamen's Neck Rd. Some of the teachers we had included Mrs Blythe for Latin and English, Mr McClarey, Mr. Curtis and Mr Peterson for social studies, Mr Ferara for biology, Mr Dridge for EWnglish, Mr. DeFeis for public speaking, Mr McCabe -math, Mr Valvano gym, and many more. Mr Fuller had a new office and was now district principal. But he continued to greet all the students every morning. Here at my Israel address wse are having another heat wave. It is also heating up on the highways between cities and on the borders. But that I will address in my next blog.
