April 11: Body Search, Local Lacrosse Battle

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. An extensive search for that took place along Ocean Parkway in Suffolk County last week will be concentrated around in Wantagh starting this morning. Three bodies were discovered last week when police combed Gilgo Beach and Oak Beach on top of five human remains that have been found in that area since December 11.  The search has centered around Shannan Gilbert, a 24-year-old New Jersey woman last seen in Oak Beach on May 1, 2010.

2. There will be a battle for local boys lacrosse bragging rights at  tonight starting at 7 p.m. when Seaford battles Wantagh in a non-league game. Prior to the game former Wantagh/Seaford PAL boys lacrosse coach Mike Glazer, who died two and a half years ago, will be .

3. There is also some local baseball action today. Wantagh hosts Division while Seaford will be at Island Trees with both games starting at 4:45 p.m.

4. Monday will be mostly cloudy in the Wantagh-Seaford area with a high temperature of 64 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
