Aug. 15: Expanded 5 Things Column, Pizza Deal For Charity, Hurricane Forum

Your daily guide to what's going on in Seaford, Levittown and Wantagh.

1. Starting today, our Five Things You Need To Know column is expanding geographically to include both the Wantagh-Seaford area as well as neighboring Levittown. 2. Today provides a unique opportunity for area residents to enjoy pizza while also helping out a charitable cause. Brooklyn Square Pizza on 3620 Merrick Rd., Seaford is donating a portion of its proceeds today to a community effort aimed at raising $141,000 to fund the Seaford Middle School winter and spring sports seasons after they were cut from the budget.

3. The Levittown Public Library will be holding a lecture on computer cleanup and security tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.

4.  Assemblyman Dave McDonough, R-Merrick, and State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., R-Merrick,  will be hosting a Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Forum tonight at the Wantagh Fire District headquarters on 3470 Park Ave,, Wantagh starting at 7 p.m.

5. La Foccacia Restaurant on 70 E Village Grn, Levittown is offering an assortment of pasta dishes tonight for only $8.25.
