Aug. 2: Coliseum Referendum Defeated, Affordable Roller Skating

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. Tuesday is expected to bring sunny skies and a high near 88 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There will be a light northwest wind, ranging from 6 to 11 mph.

2. The much anticipated Coliseum Referendum was defeated yesterday by Nassau County voters. With 97.76 of the votes counted as of 12:38 a.m., the margin was 87,445 against and 66,109 for votes. Find the full story .

3. The is holding a through Aug. 26. Bring backpacks, spiral notebooks, loose leaf, binders and other supplies to its location in Wantagh. Additionally, a $150 donation can sponsor one child with all of the needed school supplies for a year.

4. Tonight and every Tuesday this summer, United Skates in Seaford is offering $1 admission for entire families from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
