Aug. 8: Aqua Water Tower Announcement, Zumba, Crimes Nearby

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. Another toasty day is on tap for the local area. According to the National Weather Service, highs will reach to around 90 degrees with some “patchy fog before 9 a.m.” There is also a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

2. Aqua is expected to withdraw its application to build the proposed and two adjacent buildings on DeMott Avenue today at a press conference, according to a spokesperson from the Town of Hempstead. Stay tuned throughout the day for updates on this breaking story.

3. Looking to get into shape? Try out an evening class at in Wantagh. Get moving to some fun international beats while getting healthy. Monday classes start at 7:30 p.m. For additional information, please call (516) 308-7055.

4. Don’t forget about the ! Bring backpacks, spiral notebooks, loose leaf, binders and other supplies to its in Wantagh. Additionally, a $150 donation can sponsor one child with all of the needed school supplies for a year. The drive runs through Aug. 26.
