Dec. 1: Children's Foundation Holiday Gala, Save Seaford Sports Fundraiser, School Board Meeting

1. The Wantagh-based John Theissen Children's Foundation is holding its annual holiday gala tonight at Mulcahy's Pub & Concert Hall starting at 6:30 p.m. Special guests at the fundraising event will include famed news anchor Jill Nicolini, former New York Yankees Mickey Rivers and Craig Nettles, Real Housewives star and Wantagh native Cindy Barshop, former New York Knick John Starks and Mike TV actor Paris Themmen. 

2. The Seaford Board of Education will hold a meeting this evening starting at 7:30 p.m. in Seaford Manor School.

3. There will be an arthritis support group meeting this afternoon at the Island Trees Public Library on 38 Farmedge Rd, Levittown starting at 1 p.m.

4. Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano will bring his mobile office to the Seaford Public Library today starting at 5 p.m. There will be representatives to speak with from County Executive's Office, the Department of Public Works, the Department of Assessment and the Department of Social Services.

5. Katina's Accessories Boutique & More on 3923 Merrick Rd, Seaford is holding a wine and cheese fundraiser this evening starting at 7 p.m. on behalf of Save Seaford Sports, an organization dedicated to raising the $141,000 needed to restore Seaford Middle School athletic teams cut from the budget.
