Dec. 13: Election Certified, Fire Commissioner Races, Patch Holiday Lights Contest

Your guide to what's happening in and around Wantagh, Levittown and Seaford.

1. Voters in Levittown, Wantagh and Seaford will cast ballots in fire commissioner races today. To read about the contested election in Levittown featuring three candidates vying for one seat, click here. Commissioner races in the Wantagh and Seaford Fire District are uncontested.

2. Nassau County Legis. Joseph Belesi, R-Farmingdale, was certified yesterday as the winner against Democratic challenger Eva Pearson in the election to represent the 14th district seat of the Nassau County Legislature following a month-long counting of absentee ballots and machine audit. The 14th district covers parts of Levittown, Seaford and North Wantagh.

4. Today is Gardiners Avenue Pizza Night at Angelina Pizza in Levittown. Ten percent of every dollar spent at Angelina Pizza between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. will be donated to the Gardiners Avenue Elementary School fifth grade.

5. Tuesday is expected to be sunny in southeast Nassau County with a high temperature near 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
