Dec. 14: School Board Meetings, Zoning Board Hearing, Holiday Lights Contest Reminder

Your guide to what's happening in and around Wantagh, Levittown and Seaford.

  1. There are three local school board meetings scheduled for Wednesday evening. The Levittown Board of Education is meeting at the Levittown Memorial Education Center on 150 Abbey Ln. starting at 7:30 p.m. The Wantagh Board of Education is meeting in the Wantagh High School Auditorium starting at 8 p.m. The Island Trees Board of Education is scheduled to meet at the Karopczyc School on 72 Farmedge Rd., Levittown starting at 7:30 p.m.
  2. The Hempstead Board of Zoning Appeals is meeting today with sessions scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Town Meeting Pavilion on 1 Washington St. Hempstead. For an agenda of the cases scheduled to be called, click here.
  3. The Seaford Advisory Committee For Technology is holding a meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Education conference room at Seaford Manor School.
  4. Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny in southeast Nassau County with a high temperature near 47 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
