Dec. 7: Island Trees Board, White House Christmas, Fire Commissioner

Your guide to what's happening in Seaford, Wantagh and Levittown.

1) Today is the 70th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. On Dec. 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan sent planes that bombed a naval base stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The attack led the United States to enter World War II.

2) Yesterday, the Levittown Patch ran letters from each of the candidates for next week's Levittown Fire Commissioner election. For more information on the election, as well as links to each candidate's letter, click here.

3) The Island Trees school board will hold a work session tonight at 7 p.m. the Karopczyc School.

4) Frank Lazzaro, a former White House Christmas decorator during the Ford, Carter and Reagan administrations, will give a presentation at the Levittown Public Library today. Residents can view photos and replicas of some of Lazzaro's designs through the years. The presentation starts at 1 p.m.

5) Get ready for some more wet weather. The National Weather Service is calling for nearly an inch of rain for the area tomorrow. There will also be fog until 11 a.m. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
