eBay Find: 1931 Jones Beach Post Card

Last week we found this 1964 photo of Hempstead Turnpike on eBay.

This week's highlighted Wantagh item is a 1931 post card of bathers at Jones Beach in Wantagh. The caption states: Long Island State Park Commission, Jones Beach State Park Wantagh, L.I. / Surf Bathing.

As per the seller:

Unused - Divided - Date: 1931 - Fair condition - Matte finish - Some corner and edge wear - Factoids on back - Copyrighted by Herman L. Wittemann.

The item costs $7.99 and ships from Canada.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
