Feb. 10: Officer Califano Funeral, Open Houses

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. A  for Officer Michael J. Califano of Wantagh will be held at noon at  in Seaford. Officer Califano was in the line of duty while conducting a routine traffic stop on the Long Island Expressway late Friday. As a result of the funeral much Jerusalem Avenue (Rte 105) will be closed between Wantagh Avenue and Broadway between 9 p.m. and 3 p.m. 

2. The Nassau County Police Benevolent Association has set up a  for Officer Califano's family. Donations can be made to the Michael J. Califano Memorial Fund, c/o Nassau County PBA, 89 E. Jericho Tpke., Mineola, N.Y. 11501.

3. The first Wantagh-Seaford Patch  column ran yesterday with opinions expressed on what are some of the best pre-schools in the area.
