Forecast: 8 to 12 Inches of Snow

Winter storm causes cancellations of many evening activities.

Mother Nature is dumping on us again.

Another snow event has hit the Wantagh-Seaford area making, for another difficult travel day and causing event cancellations.

A winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service Wednesday morning, but the snowfall forecast has been revised upward with  8 to 12 inches now expected on Long Island.

A wintery mix is of snow sleet and rain are expected later today before turning back into snow, tonight and tomorrow.

Wind gusts of up to 35 mph will also make things difficult.

The inclement weather has resulted in the Wantagh and Seaford school districts cancelling all after school and evening activities. This includes a concert that was scheduled for in Wantagh.

The meeting that had been scheduled for 7 p.m. at the was also cancelled due to the winter storm.  The inclement weather also caused the postponement of tonight's Installation Dinner to the inclement weather and rescheduled for Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at .
