Jan. 22 and 23: Pre-School Registration, Tribute to NYPD Officer, Jets

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford this weekend.

This weekend is highlighted by the much-anticipated Jets-Steelers AFC title game Sunday evening but there are also plenty of other important happenings taking place in the Wantagh-Seaford area Saturday and Sunday.

1. Seaford Community Pre-School is holding for the 2011/12 school year from 10 a.m. to Noon today at the on 2160 Washington Ave., Seaford.

3. continues its tradition of giving back to the community by hosting the sixth annual , who was killed while fighting in Iraq. The charity event lasts from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and will feature many musical performances including the Billy Joel tribute band "Big Shot."

4. Levittown South Wantagh (LSW) Baseball is holding walkup Spring registration Sunday from 10 a.m. to Noon at the MacArthur High School Gymnasium. 5. Sunday is a major football day starting with the NFC title game between the Green Bay Packers versus the Chicago Bears at 3 p.m. The game of major interest to Wantagh and Seaford residents will kick off at 6:30 p.m. when the Jets battle the Steelers for the right to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl on Feb. 6.
