Jan. 24: Pathmark Purse Robbery Arrest, Gas Prices, Jets

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

As we enter a new work week local fans of the New York Jets are in no doubt still recovering from last night's 24-19 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC title game. As people try and get back into the flow of going to work and school here are five things you need to know for Jan. 24.

1. Jet fans packed many local bars last night including in Wantagh in hopes of seeing their team reach the Super Bowl for the first time in 42 years. Check back later on Wantagh-Seaford Patch for a video package Jet fans watching the big game at Mulcahy's.

2. Over the weekend police arrested a man and woman for eight area purse snatchings last week including one robbery that took place at in Seaford. Read about the arrests in our story that was posted yesterday.
