1. James Ryan, who was charged with fatally hitting 19-year-old Matthew Scarpati with his motorcycle on July 20, 2009 on the Wantagh Parkway in Wantagh, has been found competent by Judge Jerald S. Carter to stand trial. Read yesterday's story on the Judge Jerald Carter's decision .

2. U.S Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY, was in nearby Plainview yesterday to announce to make the federal Research and Development Tax Credit permanent and emphasized that this would "spur innovation and job creation on Long Island." 3. The girls basketball team hosts Roslyn on Saturday starting at 11:45 a.m.

4. Levittown South Wantagh (LSW) Baseball is holding walkup Spring registration Sunday from 10 a.m. to Noon at the MacArthur High School Gymnasium.
