June 10: Lacrosse Movie Casting Call, 5K, Crime Report

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. The scorching temperatures the Wantagh-Seaford area experienced the last two days will subside Friday with a high of 82 degrees and a chance of showers expected, according to the National Weather Service.

2. The feature lacrosse film “Crooked Arrows” will be for lacrosse athletes today at nearby Hempstead High School starting at 4 p.m.  Auditions will be held at 4 p.m. for boys and girls 14 and under, 5 p.m. for teens ages 14-17 and at 6 p.m. for 18 and older males.

3. The third annual 5K AIDS / Cancer Run / Walk to benefit the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation is scheduled for Sunday morning at Cedar Creek Park. To read the story behind this annual event click .
