May 30: Memorial Day Parades, Greek Island Festival
What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.
1. Memorial Day is the unofficial beginning of summer and it will sure feel like it today with temperatures expected to reach the high 80's with a chance of thunderstorms after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
2. There will be Memorial Day parades this morning in both Seaford and Wantagh. The Seaford Memorial Day Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at Verity Plaza behind . The Wantagh Memorial Day Parade will commence at 10 a.m. at the corner of Wantagh Avenue and Beltagh Avenue.
3. The final day of the 2011 Greek Island Festival outside in Wantagh is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and last until 11 p.m.
