May 4: Meet the Canidates Night, Relay for Life Meeting, Open Mic Night

What's happening in and around Wantagh and Seaford.

1. The Wantagh-Seaford area will see plenty of rain Wednesday with thunderstorms also possible and a high temperature near 59 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. A Meet the Candidates Night is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight at . The forum will be sponsored by the League of Women Voters and give voters a chance to hear the views of the three candidates for the Seaford Board of Education, The three candidates running for two seats are incumbent trustees Brian Fagan and Richard DiBlasio as well as challenger Lauren Phillips.

3. An informational meeting for the Seaford community's first annual  is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Seaford Manor School.

4. The  in Wantagh is hosting an open mic night starting at 9 p.m. and lasting until 11:59 p.m.

5. The Wantagh High School boys lacrosse team improved to 5-1 in Conference II B-1 with a 13-6 win at South Side yesterday. Check back later for details and photos from the game.
